Full Mouth Makeover Dentistry - Complex Reconstruction

This is a case that required over 3 years of treatment. During the entire course of multiple dental and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures, the patient became much more confident in herself and her surroundings. The initial appointment with the patient was set up on the basis of requesting treatment for pain. At the time, she did not think she could or wanted to afford to even save the one tooth. After we took care of the pain problem and listened to her concerns and her history, she decided to follow up on a prescribed plan of services to obtain a dental outcome that she had longed for. Normal looking teeth, a comfortable bite (normal occlusion) and no tmj related headaches or jaw pain. The second photo set below, shows the profound improvement in the patient's bite, corrected occlusion and shift in the lower jaw. TMJ related pain was successfully resolved. A variety of dental procedures were used, including dental implants, teeth whitening, porcelain veneers and laser gum surgery. An Orthodontist, Plastic Surgeon and Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon were also involved in treatment. The Oral Surgeon performed a Sliding Osteotomy wherein the lower jaw was strategically broken and slid forward to correct the severe occlusion issues. The Plastic Surgeon performed rhinoplasty procedures and incorporated chin lift and chin implant procedures to produce the outcome desired by the patient. As can be seen in the photos, these finishing touches were an integral part of this extreme dental makeover.
